Ms. Rivas is a native Texan, growing up in Houston and moving to Austin in 2012 for college. She graduated in 2019 with her masters in Community and Regional Planning and has developed a passion for helping to make Austin accessible to all through the built environment. While in school, Anjelica explored the notion of accessibility through research in both affordable housing and public space access and is now taking what she has learned about access regarding social and economic factors and applying them to her work to alleviate physical and programmatic barriers to access.
Outside of work, Anjelica loves to dabble in a variety of activities, including tennis, basketball, running, rock climbing, yoga, and hiking, ensuring that she is only minimally experienced in many things. As a former swim coach and teaching assistant, Anjelica enjoys teaching and mentoring and always seeks opportunities to incorporate this into her life. Above all, Anjelica loves to spend time with her family and California and New York, and close friends in Austin.
