AUDITORIUM SHORES PARK
One of Austin’s popular hang-outs is Vic Mathias Auditorium Shores, formerly known as Town Lake Metropolitan Park. Auditorium shores has been home to numerous concerts, festivals, and high-profile events. Often times, it’s the go-to spot for a quick pick-up game of frisbee, playing catch with man’s best friend, soaking up some rays, flying a kite, or any other multitude of options to enjoy the serene waterscape Austin has to offer. It’s also home to the statue honoring Austin music legend Stevie Ray Vaughn.
With help from Altura Solutions, the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department undertook a long-term project to renovate and further develop the Auditorium Trailhead within Town Lake Metro Park. The project included an expansion of the parking lot; new restroom facility and associated utility upgrades; trail realignment and widening; shoreline restoration; improved bicycle and pedestrian connectivity; exercise and stretching area enhancements; landscaping; lighting; drinking fountain station; site furnishings; and signage.
