Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines Effective October 7, 2023

As of October 7th, 2023 the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) will be published & in full effect.

Originally set to become effective September 7th, 2023 the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board published a correction to the date. PROWAG implementation provides people with disabilities with safer access to public sidewalks and transit as it affects pedestrian elements such as accessible routes, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and transit stations.

Visit the U.S. Access Board website using the link: https://www.access-board.gov/prowag/ to read the preamble that summarizes all the changes in the soon-to-be adopted standard.

We are happy to schedule a Lunch & Learn for your team for credit hours to learn more about the updates to PROWAG and its implementation. Please send us an email at access@alturalp.com for scheduling or any other accessibility questions!

Our goal is to help you understand accessibility for all!
